Felted wool butterfly pincushion

My latest, made from up cycled felted wool. This is my original design, and completely handcrafted by me. The flowers are also made by me, the lavender wired ribbon pansy is one of my favorite flowers to make, the leaves and the yellow flowers are crafted from rayon seam binding, and the tiny lavender roses are made from satin ribbon.
A close up of the butterfly, it is crafted from a double layer of an old felted sweater. I used a lavender embroidery thread to out line the butterfly and hold it together.
You get a full view here, it measures 4 1/2" across and is about 4 1/2" from bottom to the top of the butterfly's wing. The hand dyed velvet strawberry is full of emery to sharpen your needles, it is also hand crafted by me, I used seed beads for the berry seeds and the leaves are velvet. check it out on my ETSY

Art journal blue and yellow

This is the latest art journal, the cover is a collage of vintage linens and handcrafted ribbon flowers, with a bit of embroidery, and plenty of vintage lace. the accent colors are blue and yellow.
Sheet music and other vintage publications make up the 22 pages. I used stamps, clip art and original art, plus more lace, fabric and tags, to decorate the pages.
I like this page on the left, I used a collage paper and a french style stamp to make it.


Th rooster is a stamp from a group of french style stamps, and the pocket holding the decoupaged tags is a great find at the fabric store. This journal 6"x 6" and would make a lovely gift for a dear friend, or spoil yourself and keep it. :)

French style wall pockets

This is a close up of the embroidery on one of the pockets, and it is also a pocket, a pocket on a pocket.
The Eiffel tower printed on material and added to this pocket, along with vintage lace and embroidery.

French style Mini journal

An original hand crafted journal. I learned how to do this on my online art group. This is a journal that can be constructed from all kinds of different papers, pages from books, sheet music, drawings, maps, ledgers, any thing you can find and want to use, I have even made the pages from vintage linens in many other journals in this style. This one is mostly paper from old books.
I made the inside cover from blue dupioni silk and stamped it with a pretty swirl stamp. The first page is from an old farmers almanac with some pretty blue flowers added.
Notice the map on the left pages, you can see a bit of sheet music to the right. You can stamp on these pages, add photos, and even journal.
The cover is constructed from vintage linens and lace, with silk ribbon flowers, and vintage buttons, I added some feather stitching and beads as an added accent. The journal is 6 1/2" high by 5" wide. 11 2011

Marie style match box

I have found that repurposed match boxes are the in thing, they are used in many on line swaps, and to decorate with. This is my version. I used vintage lace and ribbon. I ruched the ribbon on the sides of the box and used a tiny metal frame for the picture of Marie Antoinette. I crafted the tiny flowers from silk ribbon, added bling by the way of rhinestones. The tiny box by the side doesn't come with.
You can get a good look at the Marie pic here and a close up of the flowers and the trim on the edge of the box. This is a beauty and would be a great keepsake box or set it on your vanity, also a fabulous gift for a close friend.

Mini dress form

this darling dress form is made form pink felted wool, and embellished with vintage lace, dupioni silk ribbon and vintage rhinestones. this is the close up view of the top.
This little cutie stands 10 inches high and is covered in hand crafted flowers and vintage lace. The flowers are made from velvet, organdy and satin, and vintage lace.
The support for the form is made from a vintage wooden spool painted a lovely green and covered in vintage lace, trimmed with velvet flowers in pink and green and a pink satin ribbon ruffle.

Needle case

A cute needle case made with ticking and toile. in black and white.
It has a darling pocket inside to add notes or other sewing accessories. Has some vintage buttons and is hand crafted and the binding is also hand sewn.
